Ear molds and Earplugs

Custom Ear molds

Getting custom ear molds for hearing aids can help to provide better

sound quality and a better fit in the ear. Custom ear molds are done

by taking a soft mold and putting it in the ear. This mold then hardens

and creates the shape of the ear which can be sent in to a hearing aid

provider and made into a ear mold.

Custom Ear plugs

Loud noises can be damaging to the inner ear and can cause hearing issues later in life. Getting custom ear plugs can help to prevent these damaging noises from ever entering the ear while still getting all the sounds you want to hear. There are different types of custom ear plugs for different situations such as:

  • Hunting - able to protect against gunfire shots

  • Musician - take into the account the resonant frequency of the ear so that attenuation of the sound is even across the frequency spectrum, preserving the original musical quality, only quieter.

  • Sleeping - softer material and more flexible so they can be worn all night

  • Swimming - prevents water entry

Each of these ear plugs are made of different materials and with a different style to help make sure that they prevent the sounds that can be damaging or annoying while allowing the sounds that you want to hear.

In-ear monitors and Impressions

In-ear monitors are devices used by musicians, audio engineers, and television presenters. Musicians and audio engineers use them to listen to music or to hear a personal mix of vocals and stage instrumentation for live performance or recording studio mixing. Television presenters use them in order to receive vocal instructions, info, and breaking news announcement from a producer that only the presenter hears. Impressions for these monitors can be made in the office and ordered directly from Marston Hearing Center as well.
